Job description

SECOND SHIFT POSITION

Competitive Shift Differential

Operate various CNC machines in compliance with the corporate mission and values, and department financial objectives.

Essential Functions

• Mill, turn, drill, tap, deburr, mold, and perform all bench operations and inspections as required.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor or trainer.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and equipment tag-out procedures.
• Comply with Global Harmonized System (GHS), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and hazardous waste labeling requirements.
• Execute proper spill response procedures.
• Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and organized.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with customers, coworkers, clients, and supervisors.
• Work safely and conscientiously.
• Assist other employees as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Three months of CNC machine operations or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Experience in structural steel operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, handle objects, and reach with arms. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate. Must be able to lift/move up to 60 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Exposure to steel fabrication environment, outside weather, noise, vibration, fumes, vapors, airborne particles, and occasional work at heights or risk of electrical shock.
