Job summary

EIS Legacy in Canton, GA is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC equipment to fabricate precision parts. The role requires reading blueprints, verifying tolerances, and maintaining up-to-date quality records per SIS ISO standards.

You will perform safe machine loading/unloading, measure with gauges, and complete daily maintenance while ensuring production goals and quality are met. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CNC machinery to produce parts while meeting quality and safety standards.
  • Reads and interprets basic mechanical blueprints proficiently.
  • Converts between metric and imperial units, including fractional and decimal forms.
  • Loads and unloads parts and raw material safely.
  • Uses gauges and measuring instruments to verify tolerances.
  • Performs daily and routine maintenance on CNC machinery.
  • Follows ISO requirements and SIS safety procedures.
  • Logs production data accurately in the ERP system (Epicor).
  • Meets production goals in cycle time, quantity, and quality.

Job Description

Hourly Rate: $25-40

Summary

CNC machinists produce parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; adhere to quality and safety standards; complete accurate quality records as per SIS ISO standard requirements; and maintain the minimal daily maintenance requirements of equipment and supplies.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

(Include the following; however, other duties may apply.)

  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ability to operate one machine independently.
  • Reads and interprets basic mechanical blueprints proficiently.
  • Able to convert from/to metric and imperial, fractional, and decimal.
  • Properly and safely loads and unloads parts and raw material in CNC Machinery.
  • Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Conducts quality inspection on materials for defects before and after machining.
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC Machinery.
  • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and SIS's safety procedures.
  • Complies with all quality policies, specification, regulations, and instructions.
  • Correctly utilizes SIS's ERP manufacturing system (Epicor), by logging into and out of each production job assigned to them, with accurate job information daily.
  • Correctly identify common materials.
  • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
  • Participate in required meetings and training.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED Required

Language Skills

Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical computations; ability to convert metric units correctly and apply the conversions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
