Job description

Machine Operator

A machine operator must be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. You will need to have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential; this position requires collaboration with co‑workers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
• Feed raw material or parts to semi‑automated machines
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any machine‑related mistakes or flaws
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
• Maintain activity logs
• Use machine equipment to complete tasks
• Perform routine inspections of manufacturing equipment
• Evaluate the efficiency of each unit regularly, identifying improvements as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
• Work as a team within department and with other departments and leads
• Proven experience as a machine operator
• Working knowledge of diverse high‑speed machinery and measurement

• Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with the company’s time‑keeping policy and all other company policies

Required Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products. Must be able to stand, sit, and bend for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt and sand.

Required PPE: steel‑toed shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, and/or respirators.
