The CNC Machine Operator II supports manufacturing and engineering by producing production parts, new tools and fixtures, and developing manufacturing processes involving grinding, lapping, or CNC equipment.

The role focuses on process simplification and improvement, requiring the ability to work autonomously and within a team.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Development of processes and programs for production parts and tools
2. Scheduling and tracking workflow, materials, and resources in the machine shop
3. Training Machinist I on equipment use
4. Working with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GDT) to produce accurate parts and assemblies
5. Utilizing CNC equipment to produce parts meeting development project needs
6. Using precision measuring tools to ensure tolerances
7. Applying metrology knowledge to specify tools and processes for manufacturing improvements
8. Documenting development activities for time and cost tracking
9. Performing routine and corrective maintenance on equipment
10. Developing maintenance procedures and tracking equipment performance
11. Ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and policies
12. Leading teams and projects to improve processes and documentation
13. Supporting new product development as needed

Required qualifications include:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• At least 5 years of technical experience in a machine shop, including CNC programming and operation
• 2 years of CNC machining experience or a Tool and Die Journeyman card
• Ability to perform machine tool math, including trigonometry
• Attention to detail and ability to complete projects on time
• Basic computer skills
• Good communication skills for understanding and giving instructions
