Job summary

Independence Tooling is actively seeking a CNC Lead to join our team. You will lead the CNC Department, mentor machinists, and oversee parts production using mills and CNC machines. Plan workloads from blueprints and work orders while ensuring safe operations and preventive maintenance.

The role requires experience in CNC programming (WorkNC), 5-axis machining, and familiarity with Fanuc or Fadal controllers; you will develop CNC instructions and review CAD designs for efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience in a CNC environment.
• Minimum 2+ years programming in WorkNC.
• Experience with CNC machining and programming.
• Experience running a 5-axis machine; familiarity with Fanuc or Fadal controllers.

Responsibilities

Independence Tooling is actively seeking a CNC Lead to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead in the CNC Department
• Mentor, Lead andSupervise other machinists
• Produce machined parts by setting up, and operating a mill and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machine
• Plan machining by studying work orders and blueprints
• Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and/or work material
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
• Develop instructions for CNC Technicians
• Review 3D CAD design
• Determine steps for programming including where materials should be cut
• Convert instructions into a computer-automated manufacturing (CAM) program
• Determine job order and perform associated calculations
• Compose programs and revise existing ones for increased efficiency

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a CNC environment
• 2+ years of experience programming in WorkNC
• Experience with CNC machining and programming
• Experience running a 5-axis machine
• Familiarity with Fanuc or Fadalcontrollers
• Ability to prioritize tasks & delegate them when appropriate

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or defense is a plus
• Experience running a 3+2 axis machine
• Experience running a Haas, Doosan, or Hermle
