Job summary

Sematool Precision Mfg Inc. in Santa Clara, CA seeks an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer to set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC turning equipment. You will produce parts to drawings, dim requirements, and production schedules while maintaining quality.

The ideal candidate has strong lathe setup/programming skills, understands tooling, and can take a part from drawing to first-article inspection and into production with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical experience.
• 3–5 years CNC lathe machining experience preferred.
• Experience programming and setting up CNC turning equipment.
• Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with precision inspection equipment and gauging.
• Independent worker able to meet production targets.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and turning centers.
• Create and modify CNC programs using G-code and M-code.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, GD&T and specs.
• Determine machining sequences, tooling, speeds and feeds.
• Perform full machine setups including tooling and fixturing.
• Conduct first-article inspection and ensure dimensional compliance.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues and adjust as needed.
• Maintain program revisions and setup documentation.
• Follow safety, quality procedures and report nonconforming material.
