Job summary

Vitesse Systems in Jessup, MD seeks a Lathe Machinist / Programmer to program, set up, and operate CNC lathes in a prototype and job shop environment. You will follow production schedules and collaborate with engineering to optimize workflows and tooling choices.

The role requires MasterCAM programming on lathe, blueprint interpretation with GD&T, and attention to detail. Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision and adapt to OT as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1 year related experience.
• Prior CNC machining and programming experience is required.
• MasterCAM programming on lathe is mandatory.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes for prototyping and jobs.
• Create setup sheets for part programs and operations.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Verify programs via simulations, dry runs, and prove-out processes.
• Plan and estimate machining projects and report progress.
• Maintain cycle times and ERP data accuracy.
