Job summary

Aerotek in Kent, OH is seeking a CNC Machinist - 1st Shift to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, producing precision components from engineering blueprints. You will complete full machine setups, verify parts meet quality standards, and support various shop functions in a small, collaborative team.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience operating CNC lathes, hands-on programming at the machine, and strong blueprint reading and precision measurement

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years experience operating CNC lathe equipment.
• Hands-on CNC programming experience directly at the machine.
• Experience with Fanuc controls on CNC lathes.
• Understanding and practical use of G and M codes for CNC programming.
• Ability to perform full CNC lathe setups, including tooling and calibration.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork in a small shop.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to blueprints.
• Program CNC lathe machines directly at the machine using Fanuc controls.
• Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, and calibration.
• Verify part quality with precision measurement tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain organized workstation.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals and quality targets.
• Support stock room, assembly, shipping, and general shop tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work area and contribute to process improvements.
