Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Machinist (1st Shift) in Kent, OH. The role focuses on setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls to produce precision components from engineering blueprints. You will complete full machine setups and ensure parts meet quality standards in a small, collaborative shop.

The position requires at least 1 year of CNC lathe experience, programming at the machine, and strong reading of blueprints. On-site work with full benefits and union environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience operating CNC lathe equipment.
• Hands-on CNC programming at the machine.
• Experience with Fanuc controls on CNC lathes.
• Understanding and use of G and M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines per blueprints and specs.
• Program CNC lathe machines at the machine using Fanuc controls.
• Perform full machine setups including tooling and calibration.
• Verify part dimensions using precision measurement tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining steps.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain clean work area.
• Distribute finished parts and support production flow.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals and quality targets.
• Assist in stock, assembly, shipping, and shop functions as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of machining processes.
