Overview:

The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, has an immediate opening for a CNC Lathe Operator (Roll Turner). We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and motivated person to join our team.

We offer a PRODUCTION INCENTIVE BONUS (paid weekly), Profit Sharing Bonus (twice a year - cash payment), and EXCELLENT HEALTH/DENTAL/VISION and 401(k) benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up lathes through installation processes, verifying settings by accurately measuring positions, monitoring progress, and conducting quality control checks with guidance.
• Taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, and maintaining quality assurance procedures.
• Planning machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and specifications, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Programming lathes to create new rolls from metal blanks or to dress rolls to meet specifications by entering instructions, setting tool registries, and calculating requirements.
• Making accurate calculations using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have meaningful experience operating CNC lathes (including proficiency with micrometers and calipers), mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, CNC programming experience, and computer skills.
