Standard Locknut is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator in our Production department to set up, program, and operate CNC equipment, ensuring quality and efficiency. The role emphasizes adherence to POWER values and safety protocols while supporting continuous improvement and special projects.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, be proficient in decimals and geometry, and experienced with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in decimals, fractions, geometry, and basic math.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Prior CNC programming and operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates CNC equipment to produce high-quality parts.
  • Performs minor edits to CNC programs as needed.
  • Reads blueprints and job instructions to meet specifications.
  • Programs mills and lathes with precise instructions, including offsets and tool data.
  • Monitors and maintains specifications during operations.
  • Troubleshoots process malfunctions and adjusts controls or reprograms as necessary.
  • Maintains and sharpens tools; replaces worn components.
  • Participates in continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts.
  • Assists with prototype development or process optimization.
  • Keeps work area clean, safe, and orderly; adheres to SOPs.
  • Engages in training to stay current with industry practices.
