Job summary

MaineGuide in Saco, ME seeks an experienced NC Lathes #1 operator to set up and run multi-axis CNC lathes. You'll perform turning, threading, drilling, and related operations on metal forgings or bar stock, following blueprints and process sheets while complying with safety rules.

Responsibilities include loading and activating programs, setting tool offsets, verifying tolerances with gauges, and maintaining tooling. Basic computer skills and four+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical college preferred.
• Over four years of related experience and training; apprenticeship or trade school background accepted.

Responsibilities

• Searches to and loads machine routine into CNC computer on machines with multi-programmed storage.
• Establishes work shift and tool offsets related to the work-piece memory interface.
• Locates and aligns steady rests per process instruction.
