Job summary

Strange Engineering in Morton Grove, IL is seeking a motivated CNC Lathe Operator with at least 2 years of experience to join our precision manufacturing team. The role focuses on Mazak lathe operation, reading blueprints, and maintaining high quality in a fast-paced shop.

Ideal candidates will inspect parts with precision tools, monitor performance, and collaborate to meet production deadlines while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CNC lathe machining experience.
• Experience with Mazak machines preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Mazak lathe machines efficiently and safely.
• Inspect finished parts and verify conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Monitor machine performance and maintain quality standards.
• Operate multiple machines when required.
• Follow all company safety procedures and work practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines.
