thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a CNC Operator to operate and monitor CNC equipment on the warehouse floor. The role requires reading blueprints, following project instructions, and maintaining safe work practices while meeting production goals.

The position may involve basic CNC programming and troubleshooting to ensure proper machine calculations and parameters are met. A safety‑minded individual with relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years’ experience in a related position.
• Reading and writing and basic math skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment and monitor feed rates, speeds and tools.
• Conduct inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators and scales.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions by editing specifications and maintaining machines.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and keep workspaces clean and safe.
• Read blueprints and machine instructions and follow project guidelines.
• Possibly assist with basic CNC programming to ensure proper calculations.
• Work under general supervision and handle moderately complex issues.

Conducts and operates computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment for an organization.

Job Description

We are hiring on 1st shift starting at $26.00 per hour

Key Accountabilities:

• Performs precision tool machining operations through monitoring feed rates, speed, and special instruments.
• Conducts inspections through the utilization of measuring instruments that provide for accuracy.
• Uses calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and scales.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions by editing specifications and ensuring maintenance of machines.
• Continuously performs preventative maintenance, which includes cleaning and maintaining safe workspaces.
• Meets the organizational production goals including cycle time, quantity, and quality to enhance machining excellence.
• Utilizes blueprints and dimensions, machine instructions, and special project guidelines.
• May have working knowledge of programming CNC machines to ensure proper calculations, parameters, and other conditional requirements are met.
• Performs work under general supervision.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
• May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 to 4 years’ experience in a related position
• Ability to read and write and perform basic math skills
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Requirements:

• Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skills trades program
• Previous warehouse experience - especially in the metals industry
• Previous forklift experience
• Use of handheld measuring tools
• Computer literate.
