Thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a CNC Machinist for the Copper and Brass Sales division in Michigan. The role sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate parts per drawings and client specs on second shift (2:30pm-11:00pm).

Position pays $24-$28 per hour and requires strong blueprint reading, 4+ years of machining experience, and a safety-minded approach. Pre-employment drug testing is required; work on the warehouse floor with heavy equipment is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Machinist (CNC highly preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, models, and other technical documents.
• Good analytical and mechanical aptitude.
• Effective time management and detail orientation.
• Commitment to safety protocols.

Responsabilités

• Operate CNC lathes, mills, routers and related machines per engineering drawings and specs.
• Set up machines, adjust offsets, change tools and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Monitor operation for unusual sounds or vibrations and take corrective action.
• Perform routine shift-start preventive maintenance.
• Handle raw materials and finished parts with proper storage and traceability.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area in line with 6S and safety policies.
• Complete production paperwork accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and QC to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training.
• This role works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Job Summary

The CNC Machinist is responsible to set up and operate various CNC machines (lathes, mills, routers, etc.) to fabricate parts according to engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Job Description

2nd Shift Monday through Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm

$24-$28 per hour

Key Accountabilities

• Work with Routers, Waterjets, CNC Mills and Lathes
• Perform (in progress) inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, verniers, height gauges, optical comparators, co-ordinate measuring machines /CMMs, etc.) to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Adjust machine offsets, change tools, and troubleshoot minor machine issues to maintain optimal output and quality.
• Monitor machine operation for unusual sounds, vibrations, or other indicators of potential problems, and take corrective action as needed.
• Perform routine start of shift preventive maintenance.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts, ensuring proper handling, storage, and traceability.
• Always maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety and 6S policies and procedures.
• Complete production paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Verify that material meets work order specifications per written work instructions and record measurements (sampling plan).
• Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and quality control personnel to resolve production issues and improve processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
• Other duties as needed by management.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
