Job summary

A & N CORPORATION in Florida is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator (Level I) to set up and operate CNC lathes, manage bar feeding or pulling, verify machine operation, and maintain accuracy and tolerances.

You will review blueprints and programs, input dimensions, start operations, adjust speeds and feeds, set tool registers and offsets, and verify finished parts with calipers and micrometers. This role may involve day or night shifts; basic math and English literacy are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED and/or Technical School graduate with concentration in CNC Lathe and Mill operations or industry recognized certification.
• 1-3 years’ experience required.
• Experience with Okuma and/or Fanuc preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and bar feeding/pulling operations.
• Review program specifications/blueprints to determine bar machine operations and tolerances.
• Input dimensions into machine control panels and start operations.
• Set tools, offsets, and compensation; adjust speeds/feeds as needed.
• Verify parts using calipers/micrometers and maintain quality
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and replace worn tools.
• Maintain travelers and routings; adhere to QA procedures.

***DAY AND/OR NIGHT SHIFT AVAILABLE***Level I details are displayed below for posting purposes, but applications from all levels are accepted.Pay Range: $16.40 - $32.00 per hourSummary/ObjectiveThe CNC Lathe Operator (Level I) produces machined parts by setting up and operating CNC Lathemachines, bar feeding or bar pulling operations, verifying machine operation, maintain accuracy andtolerances, update travelers and routings.Essential FunctionsMust have mastered all the requirements of the previous level and master the following Functions:Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Understand and identify the different material types and sizes.Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set bar machine operations andsequencing, finished workpiece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.Input initial part dimensions into machine control panels.Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation.Review calculations for machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position of cuts.Entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets,compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, provingpart programs.Understand the difference of M-codes and G-codes.Understands the process of how-to setup bar lathes by installing tools, attachments, collets,bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers.Concepts of drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, thread chasing operations, and theproper use of each tool.Taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and replacingworn tools.Adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.Use and properly store approved precision measuring equipment.Check schedule and get next set-up ready before previous job is complete.Other duties as assigned.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
