Job summary

Garding Metalworks in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced CNC machinist for first and second shifts. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience with loading, unloading, starting and stopping machines, and strong G-code skills.

You will monitor feeds, measure parts with precision tools, and set up fixtures and tools for first runs and repeat parts. Proficiency in blueprint reading, trigonometry, metallurgy, and probing routines is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years experience with loading, unloading, starts and stops of machines.
• Must have G and M Code experience.
• Experience reading blueprints and measuring with precision tools.
• Knowledge of trigonometry, metallurgy, and basic probing programs.
• Able to set up fixtures and tools for first-run and repeat parts.
• Able to quickly adjust machine controls to exact positions.

Responsibilities

**1st/2nd shift available **1st shift - sign on bonus $20002nd shift - sign on bonus $3000Duties/Responsibilities:Must have 5 or more experience with Loading, Unloading, Starts, and Stops Machines must have G and M Code experienceMonitors the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.Watches gauges, dials, and other indicators to make sure machines are working properly and work-pieces meet quality standards.Monitors machines during operation in order to detect dull cutting tools and excessive vibration.Measures dimensions of finished work-pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.Calculates and sets machine movements according to drawing specs.Adjusts machine feeds and speeds, changes cutting tools, and/or adjusts machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if the machine malfunctions.Sets up fixtures, tools, and programs for the operation of machines for first run and repeat parts.Knowledge of machine tools, including their uses and maintenance.Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.Ability to control the operations of machining equipment and systems.Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed to perform a job.Ability to detect machine errors (i.e. noises, vibrations, etc.).Ability to determine causes of operating errors and to find a solution to the problem. Mathematics knowledge, particularly Trigonometry.Understanding of Metallurgy. Ability to write simple programs.
