Job summary

ETS Staffing is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to join a precision aerospace manufacturing team. Training on 1st shift with transition to 2nd shift, in-person, full-time. You will set up and run CNC lathes, read complex drawings, and perform first-article inspections to ensure tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of CNC lathe experience, GD&T proficiency, and meticulous attention to detail. Benefits include health insurance and weekly pay with on-demand wages option.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed; technical training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T.
• Experience operating CNC lathes in precision manufacturing.
• Experience working with tight tolerances (.0005 in.) or better.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture aerospace parts per drawings.
• Load programs, verify offsets, tooling and machine parameters.
• Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks with precision tools.
• Monitor operation and adjust to maintain dimensional accuracy and finish.
• Identify/tooling issues, alarms, and part discrepancies.
• Maintain tight tolerances and comply with AS9100 or equivalent quality standards.
• Complete job travelers, inspection records, and production documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean 5S work area.
• Communicate production status with supervisors and teams; participate in continuous improvement.

Job Location: In-Person, Up to 28/Hour (Depending on Experience), 2nd Shift (Training on 1st Shift), Full-Time

Our client is a precision manufacturing company serving the aerospace industry, and they want you to join their team as a CNC Lathe Operator

Training on 1st Shift, Monday-Friday for 6-12 weeks.After this period, youwill transition to 2nd Shift, Monday-Thursday.

Your day-to-day as a CNC Lathe Operator:

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture precision aerospace parts per engineering drawings and specifications
• Load programs, verify offsets, tooling, and machine parameters prior to production runs
• Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.)
• Monitor machine operation and make minor adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
• Identify and correct tooling issues, machine alarms, and part discrepancies
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100 or equivalent)
• Accurately complete job travelers, inspection records, and production documentation
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S)
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality, engineering, and team members regarding production status or issues
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, and cost reduction

Your skills and experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
• 2+ years of experience operating CNC lathes in a precision manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
• Experience working with tight tolerances (.0005 or better preferred)
• Proficiency using precision measuring and inspection tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Basic computer skills for CNC controls and production documentation
