Strange Engineering in Morton Grove, IL, is seeking a motivated CNC Lathe Operator with 2+ years of experience to join our precision manufacturing team. Proficient with Mazak lathes, reading blueprints, and maintaining strict quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

In this on-site role you will set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes, inspect parts, measure with calipers and micrometers, and collaborate with teammates to meet production deadlines while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years CNC lathe machining experience.
• Experience with Mazak machines preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Operate CNC Mazak lathe machines efficiently and safely.

Position Summary

Strange Engineering is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Operator with at least 2 years of CNC lathe machining experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating Mazak lathes, reading blueprints, inspecting precision parts, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Mazak lathe machines efficiently and safely
• Inspect finished parts and verify conformance to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Monitor machine performance and maintain quality standardsOperate multiple machines when required
• Follow all company safety procedures and work practices
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CNC lathe machining experience
• Experience with Mazak machines preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines
