Job summary

Qualdoc in Ashland, VA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to produce precision components using CNC lathes and mills. The role requires reading technical drawings, setting up machines, and programming with G-code.

You will operate, program, and inspect parts with tight tolerances, work 1st shift Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday, and potential for temp-to-hire after 90 days in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills according to machining requirements
  • Read and interpret shop drawings and technical documentation
  • Produce precision parts while maintaining tolerances as tight as 0.0005"
  • Create and modify programs using G-code
  • Work with Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain controls; experience with every control is not required
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools
  • Verify dimensions and maintain consistent part quality
  • Follow safe work practices in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • Maintain reliable attendance and a professional approach to work
  • Safely handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Work the required schedule, including Saturdays when scheduled

Up to $33.00/hour, depending on experience

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 6:0 AM-4:30 PM; Saturday, 6:00 AM-12:00 PM

Hours:

Approximately 56 hours/week

Position Overview

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to produce precision industrial components using CNC lathes and mills. This position requires strong machining skills, the ability to work from technical drawings, and experience with CNC programming and setup.
