Job summary

Shields Manufacturing in Tualatin, Oregon, is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist (Levels 1-3) to read drawings, set up and operate Mori Seiki and other lathes, and maintain tight tolerances. This on-site role offers a 3:30 pm–2:00 am schedule with a 10% differential and multiple shifts.

You will perform measuring with micrometers and calipers, adjust programs, verify part conformance, and contribute to a fast-paced, quality-driven team with a strong compensation package including health, retirement,

Qualifications

• Extensive machine shop/metal working skills.
• Comfortable working with close tolerances (thousandths).
• Ability to set up your own jobs and run first part.
• Ability to adjust programs if required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Start and observe machine operation and set controls.
• Calculate and adjust machining factors and offsets.
• Make offset changes and verify conformance.
• Check parts using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
• Operate lathes such as Mori Seiki, Hitachi Seiki, Nakamura Tome, and Haas.

Location: Tualatin Oregon
Schedule: Monday thru Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, we offer 10% differential for this schedule
Salary Range: $28.00 To $43.00 Hourly

CNC Lathe Machinist (Levels 1-3) - CNC Lathe Machinist

• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Starts and observes machine operation
• Calculates and set controls to regulate machining factors
• Process offset changes unassisted
• Check parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Verify conformance of completed work
• Working on lathes such as Mori Seiki (NLX2500, NLX3000, NLX4000, NZX2000), Hitachi Seiki, Nakamura Tome, Haas TL-2, Manual Lathe.

Requirements:

• Extensive machine shop/metal working skills
