University Swaging in Woodinville, WA, is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist Level 2 for the swing shift. You will set up and operate lathes, gundrilling, ball honing, and precision grinders to produce metal parts to tight tolerances, reading blueprints and specs. Responsibilities include quality checks, tool changes, and adherence to BQMS policies.

Reporting to Production Manager, you’ll support Lean Manufacturing and maintain a clean work area. Benefits include PTO, holidays, insurance, and 401(k).

Qualificações

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year machining certificate preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience preferred.
• Knowledge of general machining processes.
• Understanding of CNC type machines and the processes used (set-ups, monitoring, change-outs).
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Blueprint reading and basic math.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others.
• Basic English language skills and ability to read and follow work instructions.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and train others.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Machinist Level 2 sets up and operates a variety of machinist such as lathes, gundrilling machine, ball honing, manual lathes and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications. Uses a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining. Fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Operates a mechanical hoist to move items to and from the machine

Reporting Relationships:

The Machinist Level 2 will report to the Production Manager.

Required Skills/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-year machining certificate preferred
• 2-3 years of experience preferred
• Knowledge of general machining processes using a wide variety of machine tools
• Understanding of CNC type machines and the processes they use, such as set-ups, monitoring, change-outs, etc.
• Know how to maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Blueprint reading and basic math skills
• Good manual dexterity
• Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
• Basic English language skills and ability to read, follow, and interpret work instructions
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and, as required, help and/or train others

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $27.25 to $37.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter.
