Job summary

API Delevan, Inc. in Simi Valley, California is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist. The role involves setting up and operating CNC Lathe equipment to produce parts per drawings and specifications.

You will perform first article and in-process inspections, adjust programs as needed, and collaborate with team members to reduce variability and waste. The position requires 3–5 years of lathe operation, the ability to read blueprints, and maintaining tight tolerances (within .0005”).

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of CNC lathe operation set‑up experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and quality requirements.
• Maintain close tolerances within .0005” and hold .0005 profile/roundness.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and insert tool life for aerospace machining.
• Follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team and management.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and performing tasks safely.
• Experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC Lathe machines from drawings and written instructions.
• Perform in-process quality inspection and record results.
• Identify improvements to reduce part quality variation and waste.
• Train and assist less experienced machinists as needed.
• Adhere to safety standards and communicate professionally with colleagues.
