Job summary

HORST Engineering in East Hartford, CT, seeks an experienced CNC Milling Operator to set up and operate milling machines, read blueprints, and produce precision parts. You will use Fanuc controls, verify part quality with gauges, and document machining steps.

The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to perform complex set-ups, and a proactive approach to tool changes and maintenance. This is an in-office, hands-on position supporting aerospace/close-tolerance components.

Qualifications

• 3 years of set-up experience minimum required.
• Experience with aerospace products and/or other close tolerance parts is a plus.
• Must be familiar with Fanuc controls.
• Five plus years of increasingly diverse experience in a machine shop or CNC machining environment.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate Milling machines (Feeler, Robodrill, Hass platforms) according to blueprints and specs.
• Perform complex machine set-ups and adjustments; retrieve tooling and materials.
• Ensure parts meet specifications; perform dimensional verification with gauges and measuring instruments.
• Maintain clean and safe work area; document all steps and scrap in the database.
• Assist other operators and train new set-up/operators as needed.
• Interact with associates from all departments.
