Job summary

Ameritech Staffing Services is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for a climate-controlled Houston shop. The role focuses on setting up and operating Doosan and Mori Seiki lathes, with emphasis on tight tolerances and exotic metals such as Inconel.

You will read blueprints, set tooling and offsets, and perform in-process inspections. Proficiency with Fanuc controls and familiarity with CAM software like Mastercam or GibbsCAM is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
• Strong Fanuc control experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC lathe tooling, offsets, and setup.
• Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components.
• Exotic metal machining experience preferred (Inconel).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job travelers.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Read offsets and maintain tight tolerances.
• Select and work with carbide tooling.
• Operate and edit CNC machines using Fanuc controls.
