Karman Space & Defense in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for the 2nd shift to set up and operate CNC turning equipment producing precision aerospace components. You will interpret drawings, set tooling, run programs, and perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections to ensure tight tolerances.

Candidates should have 5+ years in CNC lathe machining, GD&T proficiency, and experience with aerospace materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years CNC lathe machining experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and work holding.
• Strong measurement and dimensional inspection skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture aerospace components.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and process documentation.
• Set tooling, work holding, cutters, and cutting parameters.
• Load and verify CNC programs; edit as needed.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections with precision tools.
