Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Operate manual and/or CNC lathes to produce precision parts.
2. Load and unload raw materials and finished components.
3. Perform basic machine setup and changeovers as needed.
4. Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet quality standards.

Quality Control & Inspection:

1. Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
2. Identify and report any defects or inconsistencies in machined parts.
3. Make basic adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

1. Recognize and troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
2. Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication.
3. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating lathes (manual or CNC).
2. Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and measuring tools.
3. Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of machine operations and maintenance.
4. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or Okuma controls (for CNC operators).
2. Knowledge of basic programming or editing CNC programs.
3. Previous experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or aerospace industries.

Work Conditions:

1. Shift: 2nd Shift – 3:20 PM to 11:00 PM.
2. Climate-controlled work environment with strict safety protocols.
