Role Description

The CNC Lathe Machinist is a full-time, on-site role based in Roscoe, IL. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes to produce precision gears and related components according to specifications. Daily tasks include interpreting blueprints and work orders, selecting and installing tooling, performing machine adjustments, and verifying part dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments. The machinist will perform routine maintenance on machines, monitor production quality, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and optimize processes. The role also involves maintaining a clean, safe work area and following all company safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Machine Operation and Machinery skills, including setup, adjustment, and routine maintenance of CNC lathes.
• Candidates should possess Machining and Milling skills for producing precision components to tight tolerances.
• Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including inspection techniques and use of measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Previous experience as a CNC machinist in a manufacturing or precision machining environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, handle materials, and work in a production environment with appropriate safety equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or related field is a plus.
