Job summary

ACE Partners is a well-established precision machine shop serving oil & gas, aerospace, and medical device industries. The CNC Lathe Machinist will setup, operate, and ensure first-article quality on complex, close-tolerance parts using existing programs.

Candidates should have proven CNC lathe setup experience, be comfortable reading blueprints with GD&T, and adapt to a low-volume, high-precision environment. Aerospace/oil & gas experience and AS9100 familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with exotic/hard-to-machine materials is a plus.
• Adaptable to a low-volume, high-precision job shop environment (1–10 piece runs).

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes from provided programs and operate them.
• Load tooling, set offsets, verify first-article parts against blueprints/GD&T.
• Machine materials such as Inconel, titanium, stainless, and other alloys.
• Maintain tolerances to ±0.001" (±0.0005" in some cases).
• Uphold quality standards in a low-volume, high-precision shop.

Job description

We're a well-established precision machine shop serving the oil & gas, aerospace, and medical device industries. Our work is low-volume, high-complexity - one-off and short-run parts in exotic materials rather than repetitive production. We hold a "right first time" standard: parts are expected correct and ready to ship straight off the machine.

The Role

We're looking for a CNC Lathe Machinist to run programs on our CNC turning equipment. Programming is already handled - this role is about precise setup, operation, and first-article quality on complex, close-tolerance parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes from provided programs
• Load tooling, set offsets, and verify first-article parts against blueprint/GD&T requirements
• Machine a range of materials including Inconel, titanium, stainless, and other alloys
• Hold tolerances routinely to ±0.001", with some work to ±0.0005"
• Maintain quality standards consistent with a low-volume, high-precision job shop

Requirements

• Proven experience setting up and running CNC lathes
• Comfortable reading blueprints and GD&T
• Experience with exotic/hard-to-machine materials a plus
• Comfortable in a low-volume, job-shop environment (1–10 piece runs, frequent new part numbers)
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Preferred

• Background in aerospace, oil & gas tool/downhole equipment, or medical device machining
• Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems
