Our fast-growing tooling and machining company is looking for a machinist to join our team. We believe in learning from every opportunity, being accountable to our customers, and turning problems into long-term success.
This position is primarily responsible for setting up jobs on lathes and mills and creating components with attention to detail and quality control.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up jobs on CNC lathes (Mainly Smart NL2000BSY.)
- Assist with tool selection and sourcing.
- Develop fixturing to improve job workholding.
- Quality Control of parts on and off the machines to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Manage individual schedule and workload to complete jobs and projects by customer deadlines.
- Write G-Code or conversational machine programs to program parts and workholding per customer and internal dimensional and surface finish specifications.
- Edit program feeds, speeds, etc. on the fly both at the machine and on CAM software.
- Aid sales and engineering for part and project scope and machining approach.
- Assist with shipments of finished parts and deliveries of supplied goods and materials.
- Employ continuous education on improving and adding new skills in the areas of machining feeds and speeds, cutting tools, cam and machine programming approaches.
- Mentor team members and share knowledge gained.
- Participate in shop floor process improvement and adhere to Company core values.
Required Credentials:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, trade school preferred.
- Knowledge of CNC lathe operation for setups, tool changes, program edits at the machine and from cam software, Fusion 360 CAM experience is preferred.
- Fanuc controller experience preferred.
- Computer skills to navigate internal company messaging via Microsoft Teams, Email, and Office programs.
- Navigate Fusion 360 CAM software to load machine programs and improve machining approaches.
- Ability to communicate openly, honestly, and politely with team members, customers, and vendors.
