As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision parts in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume production environment. This role requires a strong understanding of technical procedures, excellent work habits, and effective problem-solving abilities. You will utilize your knowledge of machining processes, mathematics, and material properties to ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong aptitude and work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Job Preparation: Verify traveler, print revision, and correct material for each job run to ensure accurate machining to customer specifications.
  • Dimensional Planning: Calculate and verify dimensions, plan layout, alignments, and clearances, and determine the sequence of operations based on knowledge of machining processes and tooling.
  • Machine Setup: Set up Mazak CNC lathes with the required tooling for current job production, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Programming & Operation: Program and operate Mazak CNC lathes in a fast-paced, low-volume, high-mix environment.
  • Quality Control: Proficiently use and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gages, and thread gages to inspect parts and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Dimensional Verification: Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments like micrometers and calipers.
  • Inspection: Measure, examine, and test completed parts to detect defects and ensure adherence to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Workplace Safety: Ensure that your work area is clean, organized, and maintains a safe working environment at all times.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Be responsible for safety, practice only safe working habits, and strictly follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other appropriate duties as required to support production goals.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 1 years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining processes.
  • Skilled Operator: Proficiency in operating CNC machines, setting up tools, and using measuring instruments.
  • Problem-Solver: Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
