Job summary

System One is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for a contract-to-hire role in Addison, IL. You will read process sheets, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining steps, set up tooling, and operate CNC lathes.

The position is onsite, 40 hours per week, with responsibility for setup, inspection, and quality conformance. Ideal candidates can troubleshoot setups, manage workflow, and maintain job folders.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets process sheets, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Capable of setting up and operating CNC Lathe Machining Centers.
• Strong troubleshooting and inspection skills to identify and fix issues in setups and parts.
• Able to follow detailed process specifications and organize workflow efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Reads process sheets, job folders, blueprints, and work instructions of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
• Maintain job folder integrity.
• Repair/adjust set‑ups and tooling, troubleshoot nonconforming processes.
• Selects and installs preset tooling in machine in sequence specified on process sheet.
• Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
• Inspects first run piece and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications.
• Studies job packet and organizes materials for next run.
• Sets up and operates another machine.
