Job summary

Barton Staffing Solutions, Inc. is hiring a CNC Laser Set and Run Operator to set up and run CNC laser and related machines for precision sheet metal fabrication.

You will read blueprints, perform tool changes and adjustments, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a safe, efficient production area while supporting various Trumpf and Mitsubishi systems. Experience with CNC programming basics and G-code is preferred, along with handling laser lenses and preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

Position Summary

Our client, a leading global designer and manufacturer of audiovisual solutions, is seeking an experienced CNC Laser Set and Run Operator to set up and operate CNC laser and combination machines used in precision sheet metal fabrication.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with CNC lasers and/or punch equipment, the ability to read blueprints, perform machine setups and adjustments, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain a safe and efficient production environment. Experience with Mitsubishi and Trumpf equipment is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser, tube laser, punch, and CNC combination machines.
• Set up and run Mitsubishi sheet laser, Trumpf 2510 laser, Trumpf tube laser, and Trumpf CNC combination machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Perform machine setups, tooling changes, adjustments, and inspections.
• Make appropriate machine adjustments to maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Use precision measuring equipment, including:
• Micrometers
• Calipers
• Tape measures
• Understand material characteristics and gauge requirements for materials such as:
• Cold rolled steel
• Aluminum
• Stainless steel
• Perform basic CNC programming and have a general understanding of G-code.
• Troubleshoot machine and production issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform hands‑on servicing and basic maintenance of CNC laser equipment.
• Clean and replace laser lenses, nozzles, ceramics, and other components as required.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance activities.
• Check and change machine lubricants as required.
• Maintain clean and organized machine tables and work areas.
• Understand basic gas systems and the installation and use of machine gases.
• Demonstrate a general understanding of electrical components and schematics.
• Monitor machine operation and identify potential equipment or quality issues.
• Follow all machine safety procedures and operating requirements.
• Properly handle and dispose of laser dust and other production‑related materials.
• Support production schedules and maintain consistent quality and productivity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
