Job summary

Nassal, The Nassal Company, Orlando, FL, is seeking a Laser Operator to operate CNC laser cutting systems to manufacture precision metal components for fabrication projects.

You will load programs, review drawings, monitor performance, and ensure quality and on-time delivery while maintaining safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years’ laser/CNC experience, familiarity with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of laser cutting or CNC machine operation experience preferred.
• Experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production documentation.
• Familiarity with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum processing.
• Knowledge of nesting software and CNC controls preferred.
• Understanding of QA/QC procedures and OSHA safety requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting systems.
• Load laser programs and verify production requirements.
• Review shop drawings, digital work orders, material specifications, and nesting layouts.
• Select and stage materials according to production schedules.
• Monitor cutting performance and adjust machine parameters as required.
• Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Perform material tracking and inventory documentation.
• Execute daily machine maintenance, cleaning, and preventive maintenance checks.
• Identify tooling, gas, or equipment issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support fabrication teams by ensuring accurate and timely delivery of cut components.
• Maintain production records and quality inspection documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures regarding laser operations and material handling.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
