Your role as a CNC Horizontal Machinist

As a Full-Time CNC Horizontal Machinist at WALCO Tool & Engineering, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Horizontal Milling Centers, where you'll harness your expertise to perform a variety of complex machining tasks, including milling, boring, drilling, and tapping under precise computer control. You'll load parts and cycle the machine while detecting any malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted operations. Your role will involve running production lots, inspecting your work for quality assurance, and effectively communicating with coworkers to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. This position is perfect for experienced machinists who excel in navigating diverse challenges and are committed to delivering exceptional results.

To thrive as a Full-Time CNC Horizontal Machinist at WALCO Tool & Engineering, you'll need to bring a wealth of technical skills and hands-on experience. A minimum of 10 years of expertise in the setup and operation of CNC Horizontal Milling equipment is essential, allowing you to confidently tackle multiple setups each day. Proficiency in G and M codes will enable you to program and troubleshoot the machines effectively.

Advanced blueprint reading skills are crucial for interpreting specifications and ensuring precision in your work. Additionally, you should possess the physical capability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs., as this role demands both mental acuity and physical stamina. Your dedication to quality and teamwork will play a vital role in contributing to our manufacturing excellence.

First shift hours : 6 : 00 a.m. to 2 : 30 p.m.

Second shift hours : 3 : 00 p.m. to 11 : 30 p.m.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• 10 years experience of set up and operation of horizontal, vertical and manual equipment
• Must be able to do multiple setups daily
• Must be fluent in G and M codes
• Advanced blueprint reading skills
• Must be able to physically lift / push / pull objects up to 40 lbs.
