Job summary

The CNC Technician at Makino will utilize strong mechanical and electrical skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC equipment. This role covers the Greater Portland, OR region with occasional travel outside the region, and reports to the Regional Customer Support Manager.

You will visit customer sites, install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, document machine status, and provide after-sales technical support and training.

Qualifications

• Direct hands-on experience servicing Makino CNC machine tools or similar platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office); regular use of laptop and phone.
• Strong technical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally; technicians dispatched from home to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment.
• Use online technical documentation and vendor resources to resolve issues.
• Document machine status, repairs, and installations for Makino and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and provide after-sales technical support and training.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the machine tool industry and Makino product lines.
• Participate in onboarding and training on CNC repair.
