Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot CNC machines in an OEM environment. This role requires up to 75% travel within the local tri-state area, with opportunities for additional domestic travel.

You will install, repair, and optimize CNC systems, replace components, and support customers on-site and remotely. A strong background in electrical, mechanical, and automation, plus travel readiness, is essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• 3–6 years of CNC machine/tooling experience.
• 1–4 years of Swiss machining experience preferred.
• Strong electrical, mechanical, and automation skills.
• Able to read ladder diagrams and diagnose control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license and passport required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines.
• Replace components such as ball screws, motors, and spindles.
• Use ladder logic and diagnostics across control systems.
• Provide phone-based technical support for troubleshooting.
• Align and adjust tooling; repair spindle bearings.
• Interface with bar feed units and perform first-part runoffs.
• Travel to customer sites for repair, installation, and troubleshooting.
