Job summary

PDM Precast, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Programmer / Parts Processor to program CNC fabrication equipment, nest and prepare cut files, and route material for steel components.

You will interpret 3D CNC programs from detailed drawings and ensure accuracy, safety, and production efficiency in a fast-paced shop. Responsibilities include processing parts with band saws, drills, plasma cutters, and press brakes, maintaining documentation, and supporting the parts department with programming

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, cut lists, and written instructions.
• Understanding of CNC programming, nesting, and fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with steel fabrication equipment, including saws, plasma cutters, drill lines, ironworkers, shears, punches, and press brakes.
• Knowledge of material types
• Basic understanding of angles, dimensions, and calculating angle or pitch from rise and run.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use computer systems and manufacturing software to enter, retrieve, review, and analyze information.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, follow instructions, and adapt to changing production priorities.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn, cross-train, and support other departments.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
• Willingness to learn and utilize software such as VaCAM, Steel Solutions, Raptor, Bend-Tech, Tekla PowerFab EPM, SDS/2, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Program and nest files for CNC equipment (drill, saw lines, plasma, band saws, etc.).
• Prepare, review, and verify nested cut lists and docs before processing material.
• Edit 3D CNC programs from drawings and gather sheets.
• Read blueprints, cut lists, material specs.
• Process parts using shop equipment and ensure quality.
• Use Tekla PowerFab to route material and manage data.
• Understand machine capabilities to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
• Assist parts dept with programming questions and process queries.
• Follow safety procedures when operating equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and communicate issues.
• Cross-train and assist in other shop areas.
