Job summary

PDM in Carlisle, IA is seeking a parts processor to provide precise measurements and cutting of parts from blueprints using various technologies. The role requires reading prints, following instructions, and maintaining high attention to detail while working outdoors year-round.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical/technical roles, can lift up to 75 lbs, and may hold forklift certification. This full-time position emphasizes safety, quality, and pace in a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and instructions to accurately cut parts.
• Maintain stringent attention to measurement details during processing.
• Understand and calculate angle and pitch from rise and run.
• Operate cutting equipment and related machinery.
• Forklift operation experience or certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive/read instructions and implement specific instructions.
• Review prints and ensure conformity with specifications.
• Maintain strong attention to detail throughout the process.
• Figure angle/pitch from rise and run.
• Understand various cutting types (Band Saw, Torch, Plasma, Shear).
• Know notching, punching, and Press Brake functions.
• Take and follow directions.
• Operate a forklift (certification preferred).
• Work with different material types (carbon steel, stainless, aluminum).
• Stand for long periods.
• Lift up to 75 lbs.

Position Summary: Our parts processor provides accurate measurements and precision cutting of parts with various technologies off of blueprints.

Responsibilities And Areas Of Accountability

• Ability to receive/read instructions and implement specific instructions
• Ability to review prints
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to figure angle/pitch from rise & run
• Must have basic understanding of angles
• Knowledge of all cutting types – Band Saw, Torch, Plasma, and Shear
• Knowledge of notching, punching, and Press Brake functions
• Must be able to take and follow directions
• Ability to drive a fork truck (certification preferred)
• Knowledge of different material types (e.g. carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum.)
• Standing for long periods of time
• Due to the responsibilities of production, must lift up to 75 lbs.

• Applicants must be able to walk and stand on feet for extended period of time, lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs, crawl on hands and knees, and climb a ladder
• Be able to work long hours
• This position works outdoors year-round and therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat

Education: High School Diploma

Experience: 5+ years in a relevant area- mechanical, technical, painting, and/ or machining experience.
