Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Cheswick, PA is seeking a seasoned CNC Engineer to lead NC programming and tooling strategies for complex components.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering, drive DFM, develop machining processes, manage NC files, mentor operator programmers, and support tooling library creation.

Qualifications

  • DoD citizenship required; ability to obtain clearance.
  • BS in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing with CAM/Welding/assembly/electrical/plastics.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in CAM, Mastercam for NC programming.
  • Siemens NX CAD for NC programming is a plus.
  • GD&T ASME Y14.5M knowledge.
  • Experience with nuclear/military quality systems.
  • MS Word, Excel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Manufacturing Engineer during initial product designs and redesign efforts.
  • Provide feedback for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) changes into the product design.
  • Develop machining processes and tool selections for components and sub-assemblies.
  • Manage NC program files for revision control and security per EMD procedures.
  • Interact with equipment acquisition team during procurement of new NC machines/tools.
  • Train and mentor Operator Programmers (qualified hourly machinists).
  • Create tooling libraries and select tooling from vendor catalogs in CAM.

Perform various operational or methods analyses related to labor standards and reviews product/project flow data, equipment and labor requirements for use in conducting manufacturing operations, increasing productivity and reducing production unit cost and assists in the evaluation of engineering changes and/or other specifications requirements.
