Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support manufacturing operations with Siemens Sinumerik ONE/840D and Fanuc CNC controls. The role focuses on troubleshooting, diagnostics, process optimization, and light CNC programming, with some machine modification responsibilities.

You will diagnose machine alarms, servo faults, and control system issues to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience with CNC controls.
Experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal, Step 7) or Fanuc PMC troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot CNC machine issues with Siemens Sinumerik ONE/840D and Fanuc controls.
Diagnose tooling, cutting parameter, and process-related problems.
Analyze alarms, servo faults, spindle issues, and control system failures.
Perform root cause analysis of downtime and implement corrective actions.
Optimize machine performance by adjusting tooling offsets, feeds, speeds, and parameters.
Provide light CNC programming support and G-code troubleshooting.
Collaborate with maintenance, tooling, and production teams to improve reliability.
Support startup, commissioning, and testing of CNC equipment and automation systems.
Assist with preventive maintenance and recommend improvements.
Develop troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
Support integration of peripherals like probes and tool changers.
Train operators on CNC control functionality and best practices.
