Job summary
gpac is seeking a CNC Controls Programming Engineer to develop, program, and support CNC machine control systems. This role collaborates with engineering teams to deliver automation solutions for new equipment and upgrades.
You will program and troubleshoot FANUC CNC controls, configure servo drives and HMIs, test software on both new and retrofit equipment, develop HMI interfaces, and maintain thorough control system documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years CNC controls programming experience.
- Strong FANUC CNC controls experience including macro programming, G-code optimization, and servo tuning.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Technical writing experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize FANUC CNC controls and motion systems.
- Configure CNC controls, servo drives, motors, and parameters.
- Test and validate control software on new and retrofit equipment.
- Develop HMI interfaces and machine integration.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Create and maintain control system documentation and schematics.
- Ensure controls meet quality and safety standards.
