Thread-Craft-Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC CAM Machinist to join our team in Sterling Heights, MI. The role focuses on programming, setting up, and operating Fadal CNC mills while advancing Mastercam programming and process development across multi-axis equipment.

Ideal candidates have Mastercam experience, mill-turn knowledge, and a drive for continuous improvement. You will collaborate with machinists, programmers, engineering, and production to boost throughput and standardize processes

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience programming CNC machines using Mastercam.
• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Mastercam Mill and Mill-Turn capabilities.
• Experience with setup, prove-out, and machining across multi-axis machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
• Ability to develop machining processes from prints or models to production.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to share knowledge and learn from peers.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment, focusing on Fadal mills initially.
• Improve Mastercam programming and machining processes across the department.
• Support programming, troubleshooting, prove-out, and process development on DNX 2100 and SMX 3100.
• Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and templates.
• Help expand Mastercam use on the shop floor and create reusable templates.
• Develop machining processes from drawings and models, selecting tooling and strategies.
• Set up and prove out new or revised CNC programs safely.
• Troubleshoot programming, tooling, workholding, setup, and machining issues.
• Inspect components with precision measuring equipment and adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineering, quality, and production leadership to solve problems.
• Contribute to standardizing successful machining methods for wider reuse.
• Share knowledge with teammates while learning from others.
