Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Brake Press/Laser Operator for a manufacturing client in the Greater Milwaukee Area. This role sets up and operates CNC laser cutting and press brake equipment to fabricate metal components from engineering drawings and production schedules.

Qualified candidates should read blueprints, measure parts with precision tools, and maintain safety and quality standards. The shift is 5:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Thursday with overtime on Fridays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC laser and/or press brake equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring tools and performing quality inspections.
• Basic CNC programming and computer skills preferred.
• Preferred experience with Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, Cincinnati, or similar fabrication equipment.
• Preferred knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Preferred forklift and overhead crane experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment and press brake machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
• Select proper tooling, materials, and machine settings for production runs.
• Make machine programming adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances meet customer and company specifications.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
• Troubleshoot machine and production issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
