Job summary

Wilsonart in Texas is seeking an Automation Technician to set up, program, operate, troubleshoot and maintain CNC and automated manufacturing equipment used to fabricate hard surface components.

The role requires strong knowledge of 3-axis and 5-axis machining, G/M codes, tool offsets, and reading engineering drawings, with responsibilities including training operators and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience.
• Expert knowledge of machining processes and shop safety, including 3-axis and 5-axis.
• Familiarity with CAD workflows and CNC programming concepts (toolpaths, feeds/speeds, G/M codes).
• Ability to read and use measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Ability to stand long hours and lift moderate weights.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment to fabricate solid surface parts.
• Read drawings and load work orders onto CNC machines.
• Program and operate CNC mills, lathes, or routers per work instructions.
• Troubleshoot diagnostics and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Train new Machine Operators as needed.
• Follow safety and quality standards.
