Job summary

J&T Business Consulting in Schaumburg, IL, seeks an Manufacturing Applications Engineering Manager - CNC to lead the Chicago Technical Center Applications Engineering team. You will drive daily operations, align priorities with Sales, Service, and Operations, and ensure demonstrations, turnkey projects, and machine validations are delivered to the highest standards.

The role requires a strong background in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, and hands-on tooling and programming, with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience given equal consideration.
Minimum eight years of progressive hands-on experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, machine tool applications, or turnkey manufacturing.
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams while actively engaged in engineering activities.
Extensive hands-on experience with CNC machine setup, programming, prove-out, tooling selection, workholding, fixture design, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

Lead the daily operations of the Applications Engineering Department.
Coordinate engineering priorities, workloads, schedules, and technical resources.
Ensure customer demonstrations, turnkey projects, machine validations, training events, and engineering activities are executed.
Maintain showroom readiness and customer-ready machines at the Chicago Technical Center.
Lead IMTS demonstrations, Open Houses, and customer events; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
