Job summary

Ocean Gardens Care Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct resident care in the Nursing Department. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor residents, document care, and support nursing staff in accordance with care plans and HIPAA guidelines.

Required NYS CNA certification and active listing in the RHCF Nurses Aide Registry. Weekend availability is a must; the role offers union benefits and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Some geriatric experience is preferable.
• Must possess a current NYS nurses aide certification and be listed in the New York State RHCF Nurses Aide Registry.

Responsibilities

• Performs all direct care services in accordance with Resident’s Care Plan.
• Assists with ADL’s including walking, toileting, changing residents, and feeding with or without assistance.
• Assists with personal hygiene such as mouth, foot, eye and ear care.
• Participates in admission of residents and ensures room and bed readiness.
• Participates in transfer and discharge of residents, including packing and logging.
• Assists with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting residents.
• Records daily range of motion exercises and other nursing procedures as instructed.
• Maintains resident privacy and dignity; preserves HIPAA confidentiality.
• Ensures resident safety with wristband verification before care; addresses issues promptly.
• Maintains cleanliness of resident environment and personal belongings.
• Documents food/fluid intake and vital signs (TPR, BP) as instructed.
