Job summary

Community Horizons L.L.C. assists a family in Green Bay by matching a caregiver to support a young man at home. The role involves in-home care alongside a nurse and aide in a clean home with a wet bathroom and ceiling-suspended Hoyer.

You will perform tracheotomy care, suctioning, vitals, bowel program, catheter care, and use devices like a cough assist and nebulizer. A driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required, with weekend flexibility desired.

Qualifications

• Experience providing tracheotomy care and suctioning.
• Familiarity with cough assist and nebulizer use.
• Comfort caring for spinal cord injury patients at home.
• Ability to take vitals and manage bowel program.
• Licensed and in good standing.
• Reliable vehicle and driver's license.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Sense of humor and love of music.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home care for a young man with spinal cord injury.
• Perform tracheotomy care and deep suctioning.
• Monitor vitals and manage bowel program.
• Assist with activities of daily living and range of motion.
• Operate a ceiling-suspended Hoyer lift and powered wheelchair.
• Dress/undress, nail/hair/beard care.
• Use cough assist and nebulizer.
• Coordinate with family and nurse for care plan.

Job description

Community Horizons has the privilege of assisting a wonderful family in the Green Bay area to connect with care providers to aid a family in need. You will be working alongside a skilled nurse, or the mother of our member.

This position involves caring for a young man in his own home. The environment is clean and tidy with a few extras that make his care a bit more comfortable for both the care provider and him. This home has a wet bathroom and ceiling-suspended Hoyer. This individual lives with his mother who is an amazing support and will participate in care as needed. In this position, you will have the assistance of an aide for all care and tasks.

Basics of the position:

• Tracheotomy care and deep suctioning
• Knowledge of and experience using a cough assist
• Bowel program with stim
• Suprapubic catheter care
• Taking vitals
• Use of a Nebulizer
• Use of a ceiling-suspended Hoyer
• All personal care tasks (Showering, nail care, hair care, beard care, etc.)
• Range of motion stretches
• Dressing and undressing
• Use of a powered wheelchair
• AFO and body braces
• Caring for individuals with spinal cord injuries

Additional requirements:

• Driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Licensure in good standing.
• Confidence in your abilities and training.
• Can work with little oversight.
• Has a sense of humor and a love of good music!

Hours:

Monday - Sunday 730-11am, 1-2 pm, 730-930pm

If possible, every other weekend availability would be great!
