Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo seeks a Unit Clerk/CNA to support the Patient Care Unit under RN supervision. You will handle clerical tasks, patient care assistance, and contribute to a safe environment focusing on service excellence.

The role requires high school completion, basic medical terminology knowledge, and a current BLS certification; CNAs, EMTs, or similar credentials are accepted or candidates may be enrolled in nursing programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with medical terminology preferred.
• Current BLS certification upon hire or within 30 days; maintain throughout employment.
• Verbal de-escalation skills within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess one of the following CNA/EMT/related credentials or enroll in nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN with the plan of care and tasks delegated by the RN.
• Provide clerical support and unit-based medical records duties.
• Maintain a safe, patient-centered environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Support service excellence and care delivery standards on the unit.
