Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking a Transportation Aide (CNA Required) to assist residents with safe transportation inside the facility and to outside appointments. The role requires lifting residents, a clean driving record, and willingness to work varied hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a current, valid Driver’s License in State of employment.
• CNA required: Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or be eligible to enter such a program and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days from date of employment.
• Must possess Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
• Prior work/life experiences involving independent decision making.
• Prior work/life experiences, preferably in healthcare or a service industry.
• Compassionate and enthusiastic personality.

Responsibilities

• Transport and assist residents to outside physician visits in a safe manner.
• Assist with transporting residents within the facility to scheduled specialty appointments.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from scheduled in-house activities.
• Provide one on one monitoring for residents deemed an elopement risk on outside visits.
• As a CNA: transfer and lift residents.
• Perform basic nursing care procedures for residents as required.
• Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and ensure needs are met.
• Maintain resident documentation records.
• Adhere to departmental, center, and corporate policies and safety standards.
• Attend training and orientation programs to maintain certification.
